Touch Lamp
How to fix a touch lamp (shorted)?
I have a 3-way touch lamp that I think shorted out and won’t light anymore.
I was tightening one of the two bulbs and, instead, the bulb came off the base…the rim of the bulb (the thread part) got stuck inside the socket…So, I used a pair of pliers to gently unscrew the threaded part out of the socket. Now, the lamp won’t work anymore.
Is it shorted?
Is it easy to fix? What part needs to be replaced?
Thanks in advance,
M.E.
At the base of the socket there is a metal flap that connects with the base of the bulb. Use some sandpaper and clean this contact well, then raise it off the bottom by bending it a little and give it a try.
