Hose Air
Going to do a car tune-up….am I missing anything important?
Hi everyone,
This weekend, I’m going to be tuning up my car as its been a couple years since its been done (other than oil changes). I’m planning on replacing the following:
-Engine Oil/filter
-Spark plugs & wires
-Distributor cap & rotor
-PCV valve/hose
-Air filter
-Radiator fluid/hoses
-Fanbelts
Those are the things I’m confident I can do myself – I will also be bringing it into the shop to get a transmission service and new fuel filter.
Are there any other regular maintenance items that I am overlooking? Oxygen sensor and thermostat come to mind, but just wanted to get your opinions. Any help/comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
You can check the alternator and its belt, washer fluid (you should be doing that more often than getting gas anyways), fuel injector cleaner, steering and brake fluids, tire pressure….that’s all I can think of myself. How about an oil tank flush?
